We are getting married TODAY!!!!!!!!
"But at the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mark 10:6-9

I'm getting married this week!!!!
Things are falling into place. I'm now to the point where if it isn't already done we either skip it or I hand the task off to someone else. ;) Except for writing my vows...they'll get done, right?
The weather forecast for November 17th is a high of 50 degrees with a 10% chance of rain. (please, please, please no rain) So I'm happy with that, 50 degrees would be very pleasant. Sunset is scheduled for 5:14...fingers crossed we'll have enough time for pictures!
This time next week we will be on our honeymoon :)

It's November! We're getting married THIS MONTH!
I can't believe that after all the planning and preparations, we are now just 16 days away from the big day! I was convinced that I would be looking forward to this month forever and it would never actually get here, but here it is!
I had my last bridal shower last week and it was just so nice! The ladies from my church threw it for me and I just couldn't believe all the time and effort they put into all the little details. They decorated all the tables in my wedding colors and had matching plates and gluten free cupcakes with my initials on them.We played games and had a great time. I can't thank you ladies enough, it was so wonderful and I couldn't have asked for anything more!
Andrew now has his suit, shoes, socks and RING! He's all ready to go and I hope to be soon! Can't wait for November 17th!!!

I'm all smiles, we're less than a month away!
Today I'm discussing cake flavors with one of my best friends who agreed to make my cake - brave soul, isn't she? I'm not a huge cake person and definitely not an expert on flavors, so we'll see what we end up with.
Can't wait for November to get here!

Pumpkin Patch
![]() |
| Spray painted carnation at Peasley's Posies |
Friday we went to a pumpkin patch to get a couple of white pumpkins for the wedding. We ended up finding these little overpriced hay bales that we of course had to have. Our excuse is that we needed decorations for the head table at the reception. I originally didn't want a wedding that looked "fall themed" but now that the leaves are changing and the air is getting crisp I'm getting a little bit more into it .
The topper of the week was the annual Peasley family hayride. Andrew and I finally got to meet his new nephew, Sage. He is an absolute cutie and his parents were seriously glowing. So sweet.
The wedding is getting so close! 47 days

Engagement Photos!
Andrew and I went home to Michigan for the Holiday and we did our engagement shoot while we were there. If you live in Michigan, you know how unusually hot it's been this summer. It was 100 degrees and humid that day but we had a blast. Our awesome photographers took us to Bay City for the shoot. They were having their annual summer festival, which was fun to see. All pictures were taken by Patrick Hadley Photography

Playlist
Since our DJ plans fell through, I've come up with a back up plan. I'm going to create a massive playlist to just play off my iPod at the reception. I've always loved making playlists and mixed CDs, in fact Andrew has received a mixed CD for just about every celebration since we first started dating. So in a way, it will be like my public profession of love to him through music. I am still going to keep my eyes and ears peeled for an affordable DJ. I just needed a back up plan to provide me with a sense of relief. :)
Anyways, I want to hear from YOU. What do you want to dance to at our wedding? Send me your favorite danceable songs via e-mail, facebook or just post on here!

June
I almost think we've moved backwards as far as planning is concerned. Yesterday I went to order Andrew's ring and I was informed that they no longer sell that model. We haven't had any luck finding suits or even deciding on a color. I'm having second thoughts on my original plan to make all my bridesmaid dresses and our plan for a DJ fell through. I'm going to take some time off work to fly home and hopefully figure some things out. On the bright side, we finally decided where we are going to register and started finding some things that we need. I'm a little worried right now, but I know everything will fall into place.

Food, Suits and Photographs
"Soon" was apparently a very loose term. Things haven't slowed down as much as I had anticipated. I moved down to South Carolina two weeks ago and have already completed 80 hours of my internship. I'm learning to adjust to the southern heat and random animals around the house (we saw two wolves yesterday). Oh and I'm absolutely loving seeing Andrew everyday!
Anyways, we now have our photographer, florist and caterer! Things are looking good. I met with the photographer and caterer right before I left so I didn't have to deal with things over the phone. There wasn't much of a screening process, the people I met were the people I hired. The photographer seems very relaxed and loves candid photos as much as I do. They did this awesome photo shoot with a red head on dairy farm, obviously Andrew was sold. We have very high hopes for them. The cater we hired does the majority of weddings around our town. She gave us dozen of options. I'm terrible with food so I took my mom and mother-in-law (to be) to help with the decisions. Today we're going suit shopping. As of right now we're planning on doing suits instead of tuxes. You pay about double the price...but you get to keep them. So far it seems worth it.
We're on the six month stretch now, crazy!

Appointments, Appointments, Appointments
Finally, we are making progress! I have met with one person on my list and have an appointment to meet with two more. The floral department is the first check on our list...
The flower shop in Andrew and I's hometown (where we're getting married) closed within the last couple of months. This was really upsetting to everyone in the town since it had been one of the longest standing businesses in town. Not only were we sad to see it close, but that also meant that our only flower supplier was gone. Within the next month, however, one of my future family members decided to open a flower shop downtown. Awesome, right! It's called Peasley's Posies and it's simply precious. The owner is great and is excited to work with me and my ideas. I'm terrible with flowers so she suggested that I start googling to find some inspiration. This is what I'm currently envisioning (minus the peacock feathers)

It has become quite obvious that there are not enough hours in the day for me to ever squeeze in wedding planning. So I've handed my wedding planning duties off to Andrew...for the week. :) He has taken over my checklist and is doing an awesome job. We are now on our way to getting a caterer and tracking down a good photographer. As of right now, we have just received rejection e-mails from photographers. I guess that means we must be getting closer to an acceptance though, right?

Wedding Bands
Well, I did not accomplish my wedding goals during my break. I did, however, manage to get a couple interviews and was even offered a summer internship. I accepted and can now rejoice that the excruciating process of finding an internship is over!
Although I didn't accomplish ALL my goals I still managed to get some resemblance of wedding planning done. Andrew and I got sized for wedding bands and we even picked his out. We decided to get him a Tungsten ring. Both of us are attracted to the darker colored bands and we are satisfied with the benefits of Tungsten. We haven't 100% decided on a band for me, but it looks like we'll be getting one with a dip. Since I have a detailed setting on my engagement ring and I don't plan on getting my rings fused together, I need a band that won't damage the setting. I also really like the uniqueness to them. Can't wait for the day when we're actually wearing them!

Our First and Preferrably Last Valentine's Day Apart
Obviously, Andrew and I were unable to spend Valentine's Day together. Fortunately, V-Day fell in the middle of the week this year so it was easy to let it pass us by without notice. With the exception of Skyping Andrew for a few minutes, The highlight of my Valentine's Day was getting to go out for dinner with his parents, sister, and her family. I hadn't seen any of Andrew's family since Christmas break so it was great to catch up with them. Andrew and I sent each other little gifts in the mail to make the day special...it was almost the same as being together. ;)
No wedding planning progress has been made...but I have a plan to make plans!
My Spring Break Agenda:

This Will Be the Year We Wed
It's 2012! The wedding is this year!Andrew and I rang in the new year by playing board games and indulging in a Harry Potter marathon. The proceeding days included our birthdays and our third round of goodbyes. I must say that although it still isn't easy, we are developing a decent goodbye routine.
Clearly, Andrew and I haven't been getting much wedding planning done lately. We've mostly been concentrating on finding a place to call home once we get married. We're hoping to find an apartment/town house that is affordable and in a decent location to Andrew's school. If those two stipulations were the only ones we had, there would be a lease in our hands. Unfortunately, our wish list also includes a place to wash and dry our clothes and neighbors that won't keep us up until 4:00 am. Once you add those two little details into the equation, the search becomes much more difficult. Andrew and I realize that we'll most likely have to compromise on something. Hopefully the right place reveals itself soon!
